Jim Bennett

Jim Bennett was born in Los Angeles, California and lived his first 50 years south and east of there, until moving to Highlands Ranch, Colorado in 2006. He has been taking pictures since about age nine, when he got his first box camera. After taking photography classes in high school, his interest in photography grew even more with 35mm cameras.

After moving to Colorado in 2006, he has taken advantage of the endless photographic opportunities and resources in Colorado to build his portfolio. So far, his photographic focus has primarily been landscape and nature photography, but he’s starting to expand into portrait, event and model photography.

Meanwhile, he has had his photos accepted and displayed in numerous front-range art shows and won several awards, including Best of Show in Aurora in 2011. He is the president of the Highlands Ranch Photography Club, a member of the Roxborough Arts Council and Gilpin County Arts Association.
