Painting America’s cities, farmlands and coastlines is my passion. We are indeed lucky to live in such a beautiful country. I am an award winning, full-time artist living and working in spectacular Colorado and was recently featured in the “Ones to Collect” section of Southwest Art Magazine.
In 2011 I left the corporate world and started painting in earnest immersing myself in classes at the Art Students League of Denver and traveling to the Lyme Art Institute to study with New England Impressionists. In 2014 I began a yearlong study with Kevin Weckbach and am fortunate enough to have been accepted into his continuing master’s course of study.
Art critic Brian Sherwin has said of my work “Carol Hein is known for her delightful use of color. Her landscape, cityscape and seascape paintings reveal delicate play of movement and light. Each painting captures the essence of a scene.”
In the spirit of giving back I teach a beginning oil painting class to veterans every Saturday morning. This class has been extremely rewarding and a great deal of fun.
