Candace French
Candace is passionate about creating art that sparks joy and a deeper sense of life’s mystery. After growing up in Kettering, Ohio and completing a Psychology Degree at The Ohio State University, she moved to Colorado and enjoyed a successful career in telecommunications. She rediscovered her passion for art and the healing power of creativity after experiencing the tragic loss of her brother. Now, with an ever-expanding range of mixed media, Candace is inspired to create and teach art for the joy of it and to bring joy to others.
Mostly self-taught, Candace has received instruction from artists at the Art Students League of Denver and Contemporary Master, Katherine Chang Lui. Inspired by abstract expressionists, her paintings blend brilliant colors, textures and light and involve many layers of revealing, building and enhancing. Above all, she adores texture. Taking an intuitive approach when working keeps her creativity alive. She also enjoys playful expression and sees it as vital to her work. One of the greatest joys for Candace is experimenting with the endless possibility of mixed media materials. Her paintings hang in private collections, public spaces and offices throughout the United States.
