We encourage all of our members to participate in one or more of our committees. They are fun, rewarding, and very important to RAC meeting our goals and objectives.
Budget
Mission: Meeting in November to determine how RAC money will be spent in the coming year. Be prepared to compile, compromise and report to the Board of Directors.
Time requirements: Workload light. One meeting in November.
Community Events
Mission: To organize and implement art centered events sponsored by RAC.
Time Requirements: Workload depends on number and size of events.
Fundraising
Mission: Maintain relationship with community organizations through informal conversation and formal memberships. Request financial support when needed and when appropriate.
Time requirements: Workload moderate throughout the year. Meeting attendance required for PTIC (5x per year) and One Roxborough (6x per year).
Grant Writing and SCFD Reporting
Mission: Attending SCFD meetings and workshops, distributing SCFD information, compiling and writing a request for funds of a significant length (due annually in the spring). Attending and verbally presenting the request to the county committee. Maintaining email contact with the State. Receiving monies at the presentation ceremony annually in the fall of the year. Tracking expenditures throughout the year with RAC Treasurer. Designing and analyzing appropriate projects to support the mission of RAC. Filing financial reports each February. Arranging informal audits for the SCFD, as required.
Time Requirements: Workload intense throughout the year.
Demonstrations and Talks for General Meetings
Mission: Finding interesting techniques, artists, and short presentations for each month’s general meeting
Time requirements: Small, but a little effort each month
Outreach and Take Part in Art
Mission: Work in projects designed to support the arts in Roxborough, both in our schools and in the community. Work in Douglas County schools requires a Volunteer Application form available on the Douglas County website and a copy of your driver’s license that should be filed annually with the school.
Time Requirements: Workload intense only during Take Part in Art classes, roughly once a month throughout the year. Must enjoy kids!
Marketing
Mission: To increase community awareness of the Roxborough Arts Council, our events and classes, and Roxborough Art Gallery at the Marketplace.
Time Requirements: Meet once per month, work, as needed, to design and implement marketing programs throughout the year.
