Seasonal Murals at Roxborough Elementary School

From Your Hub Section of the Rocky Mountain News 11/15/2007 (Donna Wiss)

"Roxborough Elementary was very proud to recently unveil newly remodeled Reading Corners depicting the colorful seasons of Roxborough.

Sponsored by the Roxborough Arts Council (Maryellen Russo, president), in partnership with the Parent Teacher Involvement Committee and the Beautification Committee of Roxborough Elementary (co-chaired by Martha Elder and Rhonda Lampitt), the project was completed in just 60 days, from idea to project completion. When the new Intermediate school opens in March 2008 the Fall and Winter corners willhave seating anda snowboard bench for the Winter!

All the thanks goes to members of the Roxborough Arts Council (Patricia Jenkins, Mary Ann Baisley, Erica Cordova and Jerry Van) for sharing their incredible artistic talents to create the murals, and to an anonymous Roxborough resident for donating the new furniture, trees and accessories.

We invite you to visit the reading corners that benefit student learning during your next visit to Roxborough Elementary and experience the peaceful setting our students are now enjoying thanks to wonderful community support."
